While the automatic download feature is useful, it quickly fills up storage space, especially when you often receive photos and videos on Signal.
Steps to Disable Automatic Media Download in Signal
If your phone has insufficient storage space and you are looking for a way to free up storage space, then you need to disable automatic media download in Signa. Here we share a simple method:
2.Next, click on your profile in the upper left corner
3. Open the Settings page, swipe down and click on an option data and storage
4. In "Data and storage", find "media auto-download"
5. There are 3 options in automatic media downloads: "When using mobile data", "When using wifi", "When roaming"
6. If you want to stop the automatic media download, click each option and perform deselect all options for the image, audio, video, and document in the image below. When finished, select "ok".
If you are running storage space, you need to manually delete all media files stored on your device by the Signal app. Disabling automatic media download will not delete files that have been downloaded to your phone.
