Newsletters used to be the field of email marketing, but LinkedIn is taking steps to modernize it to fit in the current era of social media.
LinkedIn Newsletters’ launch is an extension of Articles for Pages launched last year, which allows businesses to create and publish long-form content. Articles for Pages’ goal is to enable followers to engage in conversations and invite conversations, while newsletters expand by providing subscriptions to duplicate articles with similar topics.
Business/brand owners on LinkedIn can serialize articles on specific topics, and businesses/brand owners can subscribe to these articles through briefings. The whole process of getting started with newsletters is arguably simple, which not only helps increase follower engagement, but also helps to expand viewership outside the main platform.
How LinkedIn Newsletter Works
You can create a LinkedIn newsletter in three simple steps:
Create: Start writing an article and select Create Newsletter
Publish: When publishing newsletters, they will be published to the feed simultaneously, and LinkedIn will notify all followers
Review performance: View analysis of each newsletter sent and quickly evaluate the number of subscribers
When someone reads articles posted on your LinkedIn homepage and wants to be up to date with similar content, they can subscribe to it as a newsletter.
The power of communication
LinkedIn has long allowed individuals and businesses to create and publish various content on pages, from status updates to short-form content to long-form content on page articles.
Serialized content is a proven way to maintain customer interaction in blogs and standard newsletters. According to Hubspot.com, four out of five marketers would rather give up on social media than email marketing, and the LinkedIn newsletter offers the best of both worlds.
Similar to email marketing, LinkedIn members create a subscriber base that categorizes types for specific customers based on serialized topics.
Unique to LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a social media platform designed for businesses. This time, it helps members attract and increase followers and subscribers through Newsletters and Articles for Pages, expand article influence, and opens newsletters for qualified page creators. This includes meeting a basic audience with more than 150 followers, having experience in creating original content, and complying with professional community policies, all with the possibility of accessing this feature and using it.
It’s too early to tell if the program will be popular with existing members, but the early success of the newsletter seems promising, adding another tool for LinkedIn members to interact with followers/fans, a boon for businesses and overseas marketing promotion professionals.
